The receptionist was really friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was very dated and definitely needs modernising. I was very disappointed with my room, i booked on booking.com and was under the assumption that i had a room with a bathroom this did not happen all we had in the room was two beds and a wardrobe and we had to use a communal bathroom. We spoke to the receptionist about it and she said there was nothing she could do. Feel kind of ripped off as a few more friends stayed here and they had their own bathrooms even though i paid the most out of us all. When you want to get ready or need to go to toilet its rather annoying having to walk down the corridor to do so. If i would of known this I definitely wouldn’t of stayed here. In the main lobby area its quite small but has a reasonably priced bar and a few chairs to sit on, which is great to get the night started. I definitely would say this is not a family hotel its more for groups of lads or girls going for the night life. Over all I probably wouldn’t stay here again unless i was guaranteed a room with its own bathroom.

When we were told about our room we were informed it had a shared bathroom, the hotels.com description does not make it clear that the room we booked didn't have an ensuite (which you would expect for the approx £70/night we paid).

The room itself was clean and the bed was comfy, but it didn't look anything like the room pictured on the hotels.com site (it was much smaller).

The walls are very thin and we heard (very clearly) people throwing up after a night out in the room next to us, on multiple nights.

Something else that concerned us was a 3rd party contractor asking for access to our room while we were relaxing in there during the door, he proceeded to come in and do some work on the door lock while we awkwardly waited for him to leave.

We felt quite awkward entering and leaving the hotel via the main room/restaurant downstairs as the staff seemed to sit in there and stare at you, and we almost felt judged for not wanting food/drink there.

Overall we wouldn't come back here, I think if you were a group of surfers who just wanted a place to stay this would be OK. If you're a couple looking to spend a few days in Newquay I'd pick somewhere else.

We did... read more not have the tea & coffee making facilities as advertised. The bed was pushed up against the window it looked shabby, was lumpy and uncomfortable . There was no bedside lamp, no dimmer switch for the non shaded light bulb. The bathroom had no extraction fan so the ceiling was turning black with mould,the shower was very difficult to moderate it was either scolding or cold and the cubicle needed a good clean. COVID-19 deep clean did not happen here!

We did not expect to hear other guests in the next room, showering, toilet flushing and conversations.

The place had a ‘Rasta’ party vibe with music, cocktails and Caribbean food. Booking.com advertised ‘a la carte’ on their webpage?

Parking was subject to availability at £9 per day, but a local car park was free between 4.30pm and 9am.
