I would recommend this place to anyone, the staff are great and were really helpful.
If you go you must try the Açai bowl for breakfast, it was the best breakfast I’d ever had.

  Me and three other friends came for dinner this evening and what excellent food we had! Lobster, was delicious and the curried goat was perfect. I was travelling with my husband, 3 year old... read more and my best friend. Having read the reviews I was ready for something more like a hostel but could see it had been refurbished and was family friendly.
This is certainly true but compared to my b&b that cost roughly the same, I don’t think you’re getting good value for money here.

We had the penthouse which has a stunning view and had clearly been done up recently. When you walk in you have a double bed- about 6 ft high. Go up some stairs to the main room and you have another double bed that’s about 3.5ft high and a kitchen area- with a hot tub and shower in it. There is a small separate toilet but that is the only place for any privacy. This is not a great room for sharing if you’re not exactly familiar with your roomie!

It’s all been done to a high finish and looks lovely but just doesn’t feel right and needs a seating area of something instead of a great big kitchen area.

Breakfast was a help yourself to toast or cereal. I expected more for the price.

It was mostly clean but needs finishing off. The only member of staff we spoke to was friendly and helpful.

This place was fine for a night but in truth I probably wouldn’t stay there again.

If you are looking though booking.com then please be aware that this hotel is nothing like the pictures. It is a hostel at best (and not a particularly good one), but definitely not a hotel. It may be suitable for young students who literally just want to surf but for literally anyone else it is a pretty poor stay. I remember booking thinking it was such a reasonable rate and now I feel I have grossly overpaid.

Upon entering we met one of the owners. We were five minutes early for check in and were told the room was not ready, fair enough. After attempting to flog overpriced food and drink to us which we declined the owner tried to tell us about how the previous guests had left late and the rooms were not ready as both guests and staff had had a very late, heavy night of drinking. Not what I wanted to hear and certainly not appropriate for staff to have been involved, let alone bragging about it.

The entry to the rooms is through a make shift carabean restaurant that also poses as some form of bar that 'doesn't close until the last people leave' - joy. Just what you want to hear when you are starting a relaxing holiday. It was super awkward walking through when people were drinking/eating and the owners basically leer at you ever time you walk through.

Parking was £9 per day, first come first served. Council parking less than a five minute walk from the property was cheaper and far easier (plus free every day between 4pm and 9am).

Rooms were reasonably clean but not the standard I would hope for during the current covid situation. It was made evident as written above that the clean was a last minute effort due to a 'heavy night' before.

The only positives about this stay... The bed appeared clean and was to it's credit pretty comfy. The towels were also fluffy and clean.

The decor...

The rooms had old screws sticking out of walls where old owners took their pictures and mirrors. There was only one mirror in the room, in an unhelpful place and none in the bathrooms. There was a kettle with an extremely short lead which had to be boiled on the floor, 2 plug sockets and they did not supply any mugs, milk or fridge. I went and asked for mugs from reception and they were random and not particularly clean. I also requested fresh towels once during the trip (we were staying a week). But no fresh ones would otherwise have been offered and the rooms are not entered to be cleaned/empty the bins at any stage.

The rooms stunk of mould and could not ve aired our. Also the blind string was missing so the blinds had to be hand rolled up and down every night.

The room had peeling paint, hangers all broken and snapped and no lampshade or any alternative lamp.

I could honestly go on and on. Basically it is not fit to be called a hotel and is far too overpriced to be a hostel (and believe me I have stayed in a lot of them). I would not recommend anyone stay.
